Complex, fruity nose with passion fruit, grapefruit and some orange rind. Rich and full in the mouth with a smoky backing and lots of chocolate. Great balance and the smoky thread continues into long finish. Attractive, smoky style. " ISW Silver Medal 2009
‘At Château de Beaulon the potential of the 1983 grape harvest was realised immediately and Réserves were made. As a single estate producer the quality of all our cognacs is guaranteed. Unlike large cognac houses we –only- use grapes from our own vineyards and eaux de vie distilled and aged in our –own- cellars. This traceability enables us to produce a vintage cognac because only cognac from our Estate and from the 1983 harvest is used to make the 'Très Vieille Réserve du Château'. A cognac is as old as the youngest cognac in its blend, our vintage 1983 can be so-called because its content is solely 1983’.
Château de Beaulon specialises in traditional grape varieties which many other producers have abandoned because of their low yield. At Château de Beaulon quality is more important than quantity. Grape varieties such as Folle Blanche, Colombard and Montils offer an exquisite complexity to our cognacs, add this to the exceptional vintage and you have a truly exclusive cognac.
