Thus there are two versions of this cognac: reduced and brut de fût.
The two versions continued their ageing in the original barrels, barrels of the first eau-de-vie, which gave them their powerful vanilla and cocoa flavours.
Very spicy nose, notes of cloves, peppers, liquorice, and vanilla bourbon. It is consistent on the palate, with tough cocoa notes and vanilla. In the non-reduced version, the notes of tobacco and roasting are more intense, "a concealed power and smoothness," light acidity (because of the wood) and extremely long finish.
