"Grande Champagne, 1er Cru du Cognac

MILLESIME 1983

« Collection Privée de Pascal Fillioux »

The Domaine de La Pouyade, an estate belonging to the Fillioux family since 1894 and whose
present owner, Pascal J.Fillioux, represents the fourth generation, is set in Juillac Le Coq
among the finest land and most typical soils of the Grande Champagne.
This fine 25 hectare estate produces Cognacs of rare finesse, the best balanced of the Premier
Cru du Cognac appellation with highly expressive, complex perfume, having matured for
many, long years in French oak barrels.

It was in 1982 that Pascal J.Fillioux inherited this fine estate, and 1983 was the first year
in which he harvested, vinified and distilled under his name.
This genuine man, whose skills and knowledge are beyond question, has instilled a culture of
quality at every stage of the making of his Cognacs. With his roots firmly planted in the pure,
time-honoured tradition of his ancestors, a man content in the shadows and a conjuror of
magical aromas, Pascal will be happy to welcome you into his cellars where you can discover
and share his Collection Privée.

Harvested in 1983, distilled with the lies and matured in French oak casks in a cool
damp cellar, this Cognac displays a very floral nose of acacia flowers and geraniums with
hints of almond, honey and lime tree leaves. Fresh fruit on the palate, apricots and papaya
with touches of mushrooms. A long finish with spices coming through.

LA POUYADE

Grande Champagne - 42%

Eau-de-Vie with an amber colour and fruity savours, greengage, apricot, with a hint of almond and fine vanilla imparted by the Limousin wood. 42% in alcohol content, this Cognac has a distinct and powerful bouquet whose supple and lingering taste on the palate are the hallmark of Grande Champagne.

MOULIN ROUGE

Grande Champagne - 40%.

In the 19th century two fine houses were established, the famous Parisian cabaret Le Moulin Rouge and Cognacs Jean Fillioux.

To mark and celebrate more than a century of tradition, savoir-faire and beauty, the Cognacs Jean Fillioux house has created Cognac XO Moulin Rouge, a sumptuous, full, rich and noble Grande Champagne, a very old, amber-coloured cognac with magnificent aromas of vanilla, orange marmalade, pears, quinces, bananas, citrus fruit and old port, with hints of tropical fruit.

Le Moulin Rouge and Jean Fillioux, a dazzling, magical ballet of feathers, spangles and sequins, subtle aromas and exquisite flavours.

As the orchestra plays the introductory bars, the audience, from Paris to Cognac, bursts into applause. Let the party begin !!!…

TRES VIEUX and XO IMPERIAL

The Cognac guide, Axel and Bibiana Behrendt.

"Lingering on the palate and finely complex, this Cognac is your perfect end-of-evening companion to offer your friends. A pure Fillioux-family product, it combines elegance and strength without pretentiousness".

RESERVE FAMILIALE

Grande Champagne - 40%

"The colour is deep amber with a superb flavour of prune heralding its prestigious origins. Rich on the palate, complex in flavour and graceful in taste, it has a typical savour of noble rancio Cognacs, with its hints of old rhum, spices, vanilla and leather. Over 50 years of maturity have allowed this Cognac to combine all these qualities in a remarkable mix".
La Revue du Vin de France (French Wine Review) - January 1999.

"To go with a Hoyo of the Gods Cigar, we chose a Jean Fillioux, Reserve Familiale Cognac. A pure Eau-de-Vie, discreet to begin with and revealing its full character afterwards, with the finest rancio aroma, richly flavoured in fruitiness and spice. Two parallel tastes giving a balanced, full-bodied, unctuous sensation, with a distinctive wine-shoot, peppery and jammy prune preserve flavour. A rich blend of elegance and strength of character".
Olivier Bompass Gault Millau Review - March 1998.
