Cognac of the month is an armagnac !
We particularely like this family owned fine armagnac ...
The Domaine de Lasgraves is situated in the heart of the Bas Armagnac region. This region’s specific relief, soil and weather have all contributed in making it the cradle of the best Armagnacs.
The Armagnacs of the Domaine de Lasgraves have been produced by the same family for more than three generations and always following the same hand crafted method.
At the Domaine de Lasgraves the wine is always distilled at the beginning of winter because young wines make the finest armagnac. The traditional « armagnacaise » distillation is used. This method best protects the extraordinary range of aromas developed by this brandy.
After the distillation process, the Armagnac is transferred to new oak barrels where it will stay for between 10 and 30 years. During this time, each vintage develops its own personality.
The oak used to make the barrels comes from the Domaine de Lasgraves as well which is an exceptional and rare asset. The oak is naturally dried for 10 years before being transformed into barrels.
