Jacques Petit, actual owner of House André Petit speaks about his cognac :
"Around 1850, Mr. Goulard, the grandfather of my grandmother, was a weaver. He lived and worked among the vineyards of Cognac. He built a distillery and with a good advice of his cousin, a worker in the Hennessy distillery, he produced the famous alcohol with a prestigious name: Cognac.
Time went by, with its good and bad years (wars, vineyard troubles - phylloxera and mildew). In 1921, the vineyard took the name of PETIT at my grandmother's marriage to Albert Petit.
In 1965, my father André Petit decided to stop his contract with the house of Hennessy to sell his own bottled product.
Faithful to the tradition and respectful of the quality, we sell a prestigious Cognac which is elaborated according to our tastes and our character. As a music lover is in ecstasy in front of the subtleties of the interpretation of great music, the lover of luxury alcohol should know the same feelings.
Our Cognacs are elaborated following very old methods. We harvest our grapes by hand and we distill following the teachings of our grandparents. In the distillation, we do not use any machines to separate alcohol. We trust our olfactory sense. We are wine growers who develop a Cognac with a pronounced style following our feelings and tastes. Our Cognac is not a standard quality Cognac."
