Gautier is one of the oldest Cognac houses. Its history began in the 16th century, but the company was only officially founded in 1755 when the family obtained a Royal Warrant to produce Cognac and a founding charter signed by Louis XV.
Gautier’s cellars are uniquely located in a former water mill above the river Osme; as a result, the cellars enjoy a natural humidity which provides ideal maturing conditions. This unique balance enables the Cognacs to age in a harmonious and balanced way and to gain exceptional mellowness, roundness and complexity.
The heirs of Maison Gautier succeeded each other in turn over 10 generations, developing the family business. The Cognac house was thus passed on from father to son, always preserving its traditional expertise while maintaining a dynamic approach, and always seeking perfection in terms of quality.
In 1975, Gautier joined the group Berger, which was in turn purchased by Marie Brizard & Roger International in 1995 and by the Belvedere Group in 2006.
Gautier - Sève by Gautier
The Cellar Master of Maison Gautier has selected the finest blends from the Fine Champagne area which, combined with a consummate blend of plant extracts, give a powerful liqueur with a delicate and harmonious vanilla flavour. To enhance its unmistakably strong character, the liqueur is left to mature for a few weeks in the wood.
