Roullet

The Roullet family have owned vineyards in Cognac since 1772.
Based in Le Goulet of Foussignac near Jarnac, the present company, Roullet & Fils, was founded in 1780 and was amongst the first to sell cognac in glass bottles in Paris.
The founder, Paul Frederic Roullet survived the French Revolution and received the Republic's licence to distil in 1791.
He became one of the suppliers of the armies of Bonaparte and Napoleon.
The Roullet Domain now extends over 100 acres on the south facing slopes of the best fins bois in the cognac area.
Mathias Paul Roullet , the ninth generation, keeps a watchful eye on the "eaux-de-vie", and perpetuates his family traditions.
